Lots and lots of places

Well it's been a pretty busy couple days since we left Cinque Terre where the internet wasn't the greatest so I didn't have a chance to write on this or put pictures on.

Luckily we didn't have to endure the brutal path in Cinque Terre because it rained a lot a few days before we got there so the main paths were closed. After the couple of days there we took a night train to Paris. The ride was a little rough even though I fell asleep right away when we got on the train I was totally exhausted.

When we got to paris we went to our hotel and went to Sacre Coceur Basilica and looked over Paris. After that we went to the Eiffel Tower and watched it for a little while and decided to climb it the next day (which actually didn't happen until last night). The second day in Paris we had a pretty busy day looking at the Lourve and Versailes followed by another busy day of the Orsay Museum and the Pompidou. And to round things up, today we went to Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Concierge and a walk in a grave yard where Jim Morrison from the Doors and other famous people are buried.

Also on Sunday a group of us went to the church service at Notre Dame which was pretty fun too. Tomorrow we travel to London for the remainder of our trip and I will try to keep things posted as to what we do with some pictures.

Just another day in paradise

So far the trip has been pretty amazing. We just got to Venice today from a train ride from Florence this morning. Florence was a short stop but there was a lot to see. On Friday we arrived in Florence and went to the Academia where Michelangelo's David was and spent some time in there looking at David and other sculptures and paintings. After seeing David we went to the Uffizi Gallery where the statue of David originally was and where now a copy of it stands in the square.

On Saturday we were up once again pretty early, had a quick breakfast and went to the Duomo and climbed either the tower next to the Duomo or the Duomo; I chose the Duomo. After climbing the Duomo the group met again and some of us went to Sienna where we walked around the town and visited a huge church and saw some lady get arrested. I have no idea why she got arrested but we figured she jumped in someone's car that was driving through town. The cars I think were in a race or something because they looked like old style race cars and some were pretty fancy BMW's and sports cars. After Sienna we went back to Florence and had some free time for the rest of the night and I walked around the town. Oh and I called my parents and talked to them for a little while after we ate supper and got some free wine.

Today (Sunday) we took a train to Venice and it is absolutely one of the best places we've been so far. Even though it's surrounded by water and to get from one island to the other you have to take a boat, it's still really neat. So far we just have had free time and have been walking around and looking at the shops. Tomorrow or tonight sometime I am hoping to go on a gondala ride at night through the town's canals. That's all for now I'll keep you all posted as I can.

We walked, walked some more, I got seperated... and we walked again

Well I tried to put some pictures on the computer at this internet cafe but everything is in Italian and I have no idea how to do it so I will try to use someone's computer on the trip to put a few pics up. Yesterday we went to St. Peter's Square and the Sistine Chapel and of course I got seperated (not lost) from the group with two other girls.

We eventually managed to work our way to St. Peter's Square to see the Pope. We walked around and finally found our group an hour and a half later. After that we walked around some more and ate supper and finally got back to our hotel around 10pm and everyone was pretty tired and just went to bed.

Today we went to the Coliseum and wow. We spent a few hours there and walked around (imagine that ha) then we went to the Borghese Gallery and looked at some pretty sweet paintings and sculptures. After that we had some free time and eventually I ended up at the internet cafe place to write a little about what I've been doing.

I'll try to keep things posted as we go along and put some pictures on if I can figure out how to use the computers here, otherwise you'll just have to wait until I get home in a few weeks ha!
